Yes that’s right, there are things you can do on your end to help elevate the whole final look! The little things matters!
- Skin skin skin
This goes without saying. Makeup will definitely look flawless if you already have flawlessly smooth skin. However, most of us are not blessed with good skin. It is okay and we can continuously work on it.
First and foremost, you should get to know your skin. Seek professional help if you need to get deep into the deets regarding your skin. Once you understand what your skin needs, it’ll be easier to work on tackling the root cause. It will take time for your skin to reach its best version. To expedite it, you should be more careful with what you consume. Avoid heaty food and remember to continuously drink lots of water before your big day. Aim for at least 3L a day!
2. Ice Your Face
It is good to ice your face once in the morning and once at night for at least 2 weeks leading up to your big day. Highly recommended for those who sweat easily around the face area.
3. Coloured Contact Lens
Coloured contact lens will definitely elevate the makeup look! I recommend using either brown or grey coloured lenses. Preferably avoid lenses that are way too big.
If you have never worn contact lens before, please try and practice wearing it often at least few months before your big day to get use to it.
4. Not planning to wear falsies on your big day?
I highly recommend using falsies as it will hold the look together. If you are afraid that it might feel heavy on your eyes, don’t be! As the lashes I bring in are light weight and the lash band is soft and flexible.
However, if you do not want to wear falsies after much consideration, you might want to consider going for lash lift! Especially if your lashes are naturally straight. No matter how good a mascara or a lash curler is, it is only natural that your natural lash will not stay up the whole day. If you have very thin lashes, you can consider using lash serum months before your big day, so as to make your lashes look fuller.
5. Thread/Pluck your eyebrows and moustache
This is optional but it will definitely lead to neater looking brows as the final look. If it is something you are not comfortable doing, it is okay too! Most of the extra brow hairs will be able to be concealed abit.
6. For hijabis
Your shawl and its styling matters! If you are buying your own shawl, ensure the material is not too slippery and not too rough/stiff. It should have a nice flow to it so that it is easier to style it.
A good tip is to get a hijab inner that is of a similar colour to your shawl. Depending on the hijab style you are going for, either a inner tube or inner ninja would be better. You can reach out to me to enquire further about this!
Wear a hijab volumiser too! This gives that all around elegant look, your veil will look better and head accessories will be placed more nicely.
7. For hairdo
It is best to grow out your hair, ideally at least around chest level would be great with minimal layering! It is also good to have some fringe below chin level. You may discuss with your MUA especially if you have some hairdos in mind already! (:
Please do not go for hair treatment within the same week as your big day.
